It was great to photograph Ellen & Christian's wedding in June at Broyle Place in Ringmer. It was a new venue to us and we were really impressed. The house is set within beautifully kept gardens and there is a choice of getting married in the house, outside in the gardens or in a small marquee outside if, like Ellen & Christian, the weather isn't kind to you!
No amount of unpredictable weather could dampen the spirits at Ellen & Christian's wedding however and we started the day meeting Ellen at Broyle Place where she was getting ready. Ellen arranged for her horse and dog to be transported over to the venue and we got some gorgeous photos of Ellen with them. Ellen's horse hadn't been left out with getting a bit of make over, with daisies in her mane and Ellen's dog had a special wedding day collar!
Ellen wore a really simple, pretty lace sleeve less gown and opted for white diamante encrusted Converse instead of bridal heels! Ellen's Bridesmaids looked amazing in jade green floor length dresses with lace shoulders and cap sleeves. The Bride and Bridesmaids carried small empty wine bottles with lilies and roses in them instead of traditional bouquets.
The ceremony went brilliantly with Ellen walking in with her Dad and to bag pipes. Soon Ellen & Christian sealed the deal and enjoyed a very welcome glass of bubbly outside in the gardens at Broyle Place. We managed to just get the formal group shots done as the heavens opened and everyone retreated to the marquee which was decorated with lots of summer flowers in decorated tin cans and hand made bunting hanging all around. The tables were decorated with hand made crochet hearts and more summer flowers.
Ellen & Christian treated their guests to a hog roast and ice cream for pudding and before long they were strutting their stuff to the sounds of the amazing Hot Detroit band who got everyone up on their feet within minutes of starting playing!
We whisked Ellen & Christian outside for some private shots in the grounds during a break in the rain storms and got some beautiful natural looking shots.
The party continued well into the night and I think it is safe to say that a fantastic time was had by all!
It was great to be a small part of Ellen & Christian's wedding and I wish them all the very best for a happy future together.
