On a very warm day in mid July we had the pleasure of photographing Georgina & Alex's lovely country style wedding at The Sussex Barn near Hellingly. Jason started the day meeting Georgina and her Bridesmaids at The Old Workshop in Broad Oak where she was getting ready. This accommodation provided some great opportunities for bridal prep shots before Georgina headed off to The Sussex Barn.
Georgina wore a beautiful floor length gown in a fit and flare style with a drop back and chiffon cap sleeves embellished with floral appliqué. Her Bridesmaids wore pretty floor length dresses in light coral which was the colour of the Groom and Groomsmen's ties as well. The bouquets were really original in that they were made of coffee filters dip dyed, they were really pretty and more of these flowers were used to decorate the barn as well as the Groom and Groomsmen wearing paper flower button holes.
The Sussex Barn was decorated brilliantly with lots of rustic, country themed decorations. The guests sat on hay bales for the ceremony and welcome drinks were served outside from large glass dispensers. The drinks were bespoke cocktails that the couple had created for their special day and seemed to be going down really well with the guests!
The ceremony was just lovely and soon the happy couple walked back up the aisle as Mr & Mrs! We took them off after they had a mingle with their guests for a few private shots in the area around the barn which makes for a great backdrop. We were lucky enough to be able to go inside the barns too for more shots amongst the hay bales!
Georgina & Alex worked so hard on their wedding, providing their guests with an abundance of fantastic home cooked food and a lovey homemade cake in layers of pastel colours with coral flowers decorating it. The day went brilliantly and it was clear that everyone enjoyed themselves. The evening carried on with lots of outdoor games for the children (and adults!) and space hopper races! The evening was topped off with lots of dancing and nibbles for the evening guests (and the peckish day guests!) provided by The Sussex Spice Ship.
